The Director-General of the Public Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDC), Eng. Jomana Attyat, welcomed on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Arab Towns Organization, Engineer Abdul Rahman Al-Asfour.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and expand the horizons of future joint cooperation between the organization, its affiliated institutions, urban planning, local governance, sustainable development, and the promotion of collaborative efforts and knowledge exchange. They also focused on achieving the shared vision between the Corporation and the Organization.
The Director-General of HUDC, Eng. Jomana Attyat, reviewed Jordan's experience in housing policies, urban and sustainable development, sustainable urban planning, and green infrastructure in the Corporation's projects. She also discussed the mechanisms of financing, pricing, target groups, planning, implementation, supervision of projects within the Corporation, and partnerships to provide affordable housing.
Attyat emphasized the importance of strengthening mutual cooperation, providing technical support, and exchanging expertise and experiences in the field of sustainable urban development.
For his part, Engineer Abdul Rahman Al-Asfour, Secretary-General of the Arab Towns Organization, stressed the importance of joint cooperation and coordination, contributing to achieving sustainable urban development goals in Arab cities. He also highlighted the crucial role played by the Public Housing and Urban Development Corporation in urban development, implementing projects according to the latest planning standards, and launching numerous initiatives that have strengthened its role in urban development.
At the end of the meeting, Eng. Jomana Attyat expressed the HUDC's readiness to cooperate and provide the necessary support to the Organization regarding the launch of the agenda.
