HIS INPUTS:
Following are the definition of HIS inputs related to the selected outputs displayed on the HUDC site.
 
1. Housing and Urban Indicators.
An indicator is a measure, which summarizes quantitative and qualitative information about a particular subject, designed to pinpoint issues of concern to policies and strategies.
 
Thus specific priorities and objectives are addressed. Indicators help in reaching answers to questions targeted by decision and policy makers
 
The HUDC has complied a list of housing and urban indicators, which prepared by HABITAT and World Bank. Accordingly, these indicators were reviewed and those relevant to the Jordanian housing sector were chosen. In addition, one may classify the indicators, which will be displayed on this site to general indicators encompassing the main demographic and economic indicators on a national level as well as the housing indicators relating to the following issues:
  • Housing affordability.
  • Housing finance.
  • Housing quality.
  • Housing productionand needs assessments.
  • Housing subsidies.
  • Residential Land zoning.
 
2. Housing Needs Assessments.
Some outputs of this system are used to calculate housing needs assessment, which include number of units should be meet the demand of population growth, the replacement of obsolete housing units, and reduction of over crowdedness.
 
3. Housing Production.
The data inputs of this sector include the number of building licenses issued, number of housing units and area included in the licenses according to the year and governorate.
 
4. Real –Estate Market
The inputs of this sector include number of apartments sold by formal private sector, which are registered by Department of Land and Survey. 
 
5. Housing Finance:
This category includes number and amount of housing loans according to the lending body institutions.
 
6. Land Use:
This category is comprised of total zoned area (Donums) for housing including new-zoned areas and net changed zoned areas in main municipalities, in addition to the efforts of these municipalities in down zoning.
 
7. Building Materials Prices
This category includes market prices for main construction material
